Here is an overview of the suggested PC components:
1) The founding element of your computer is called a motherboard. This motherboard is an Intel Pentium II/III Compatible 440BX2 Seattle. It features a built-in sound card, two USB ports and a 100 megahertz bus. Also this motherboard is superior because it will autodetect the speed of your CPU without requiring adjustments to the jumpers. This motherboard will be home to all the other components.
2) Along with the motherboard are cables to connect the motherboard to the floppy, CD ROM and hard drives.
3) This compact disc drive is a 36X speed ReWritable. You may use any 36 or 48 speed CD drive. (To show DVDs on your computer you will need to purchase an additional DVD drive).
4) Here is a standard floppy drive.
5) Shown here is a recommended 40 gigabyte, 7200 RPM (ram per minute) hard drive.
6) This Pentium III Processor or CPU works as the brain of your computer. This particular model powers at a speed of 650 megahertz when used with the aforementioned 100 MHz bus.
7) A network card will allow you to connect your new system to your existing system, or to any other PC.
8) This video card will enable your system to display videos. If you want enhanced video resolution you may purchase a card with more memory. This one is 16 MB.
Note: For video-editing you will need to purchase a recorder, hardware and software. We recommend the following: SONY Digital Handicam with a DVI/O port; Pinnacle Systems MiroVideoDV/1394 video-editing card; and Adobe After Effect video-editing software.
9) These two memory chips each contain 128 MB of RAM and are compatible with a 100 MHz motherboard.
10) You may choose any keyboard and mouse to suit your needs. Pictured here are standard PS2 compatible keyboard and mouse.
